Eye discharge milky white color

Just wondered if any of your dogs have gotten something like this, I was reading this happens to olders dogs, I used some of my Systane drops on my other dog, seems to help,its like a film at times then goes away, no doubt will go to vet, but would like input, no redness swelling, looks like milky egg white sustance. He has a wart on his upper lid but what from I can tell it don't look like its coming from there.

I've never seen something I'd describe as milky white... Chris' eyes if they get dry or irritated have kind of a translucent grayish discharge.

Bad ones are yellow or green.

Could be dry eye.

maybe it is translucent gray, lite gray? just looks like a egg white almost cooked.

Bogie had what I called white snot. Sometimes it actually looked like a cataract covering his eye cause it hadn't made it's way to the corner of his eye yet.

I don't remember if this was when he had dry eye or conjunctivitis. It wasn't just eye booger size but a big old glop of it.

If there's no hint of redness and there's absolutely no yellow or green to the discharge, you might try some moisturizing gel or drops. We have used Lacrilube because it's very simple - small list of ingredients as Chris is allergic to so many things. He didn't do well on GenTeal Gel but I know other dogs have. It has a long list of ingredients so more potential for allergens.

But if you suspect infection, she will need to see the vet. Or if the moisturizing doesn't get rid of it. Sometimes they need a steroid type drop to improve tear production.

The wart, if it's rubbing on the cornea, could be irritating the eye and causing the discharge too. The cornea is extremely sensitive and anything abrading it would be painful.
