I'm really glad I found this group!
Rowlf is a 10-year old Bichon who was diagnosed 17 months ago. She weighs about 16 pounds, and is on mixed wet and dry WD. After her shot she also gets a piece of chicken breast jerky and a homemade liver cookie. I just transitioned her from Vetsulin to Relion last week, and she's doing very well. I can generally tell when she's a little out of whack, but I also occasionally do blood tests just to make sure I'm not missing anything. She was on 5 units of Vetsulin twice a day, and I'm now giving her 4 units of Relion. So far her tests have remained pretty stable. During the transition I'm testing her at least once a day, but I'll probably go back to just testing her when I think she's out of whack as soon as I'm sure she's stable.
She is marvelously good natured about everything (and loves those short needles!).
