If the dog food is kibble, you may want to try soaking some or all of it so it digests a little easier. Might knock the after dinner spike down.

Daisy does the same thing, almost like clockwork. Right now I've got her down to 4.5 units because all of a sudden each fasting level was creeping higher and higher and her levels were dropping too...

The thing about the Stewbie is there are too many ingredients and you can never tell how many carbs they're actually getting at each meal. The carrots and the broccoli seemed to raise her glucose...

A word of caution on the rapid acting insulin- .25 units brought my 20 lb Schnauzer down to 40 in a matter of an hour. I keep it on hand in case of an emergency but I haven't used it in over a year....

Daisy is up and down between 5.25 in the winter and almost 6 in the summer.

Pettest is good, the strips run about $39 for 50 from Countryside Pet and lots of times they'll run a special....

Vetsulin is a 70/30 and I couldn't get her regulated on it, so I went from Vetsulin to Novolin N.

If his glucose is fairly stable and he's just having a food spike, I wouldn't change.
