She has recommended that I drop him to 2 at night if it was too much, so he will be 4.5 in the morning and 2 at night... itís just so bloody nerve racking...

I am going to suggest maybe giving him...

I definitely think 4.5 is too high for him but I am not sure if I want to drop it down to 4 without a curve...

Ok...

After a long chat with the vet, she gave me the full run down on what had happened...

She started him at 8 units of insulin when he was first diagnosed to bring the sugar levels down......

We are going to get a monitor... he has only had one episode which was Wednesday and she then reduced the insulin which did help him, he was still slightly wobbly but he was reasonably fine... she...

So...

We did as the vet recommended and skipped his dose last night... he was perfectly fine, no shaking, no head movement, he was perfectly fine... did his usual morning routine of getting us up...

Ok...

I checked with the vet and itís kilos not pounds... I thought it was but itís kilos... sorry, iím Dyslexic and I got them mixed up, lol!

So he is 5-6 kilos...

He was about 14 pounds when he started... his blood sugar was off the chart, I think it was about 24-28 could even been over 30, I can remember it too well with the shock, he had high cholesterol...

When he started he was over 20, so he was on 8 in the morning and 8 in the evening and we were in practically every day for urine tests and blood tests... we got him down to 5 day and night and he...

He hasnít had a full curve since this started... he has had mini curves but not a full one which is why she wants to do one next week...

He weights about 5.6-6 pounds... he was down to 5.2 from 10...

We have just taken griffin to the vets, she wanted to do a blood glucose test and he was at 2.1 which is way too low... the last time he was checked he was at 4 and that was low but nothing to be...

So... after last nights little incident, he was perfectly fine this morning... he is a little clingy but I think it shook him up, I know it did with me, lol!

We took griff to the vets today just to be checked out and she did his urine sample and his blood sugars were normal and his kidneys were fine... she believes itís the heat that is making...

Basically his liver has been damaged because of his diabetes... its a little bit enlarged but seeing that what now appears to be signs of diabetes were taken as something else we arenít sure how long...
