Re: Newly Diagnosed, having issues

I would not focus to much on a higher number as most glucose meters can be off quite a bit at the higher range .

There is no indication of rebound but its difficult to say how your dogs body...

Maybe the only way to truly find out is maybe go off of insulin for a few days ....

Re: Dog diagnosed with diabetes 4/28/20

Hi and welcome

The dose at 7 units is a low staring dose which normally for an 80 pound dog would be about 16 units . Now seeing a number at 159 with such a low dose may point to Natalie's...

Re: Newly Diagnosed, having issues

Your still at around a starting dose for a 62 pound dog at 11 units . The curve is flat and shows no sign of rebound . You can move it a bit faster doing a curve once a week and adjust the dose if...

Re: Cataract eye drops

There is no proof they work but it probably would not hurt to try . Its possible flushing out the eyes could be helpful and add some type of moisturizer as diabetic dogs are prone to dry eye
