Re: Hypoglycemic Heart Attack?

I'm so sorry for your loss. My Jenny was a diabetic cushings poodle also.

I don't know how the anesthesiologist couldn't get a blood sample. That does sound like a lame excuse.

I will tell you...

Re: Is there a number that equals "stabilized"?

it's way too early to think that and that was a very general statement for your vet to make. Dogs aren't considered "insulin resistant" until they are getting a unit per pound. Scooter isn't even...

Re: First curve/more of a flat line

Re: Gus, the mini-schnauzer

Re: Gus, the mini-schnauzer

what a nice vet to call and check up on him. I'd let the vet know what the deal is. It takes a village sometimes!

Glad Gus is doing better. Poor baby. That pancreatitis is so painful

Re: New to this site. Jasmine needs HELP...

I agree with Raysaint. Anyone who has done a curve knows a dog's blood sugar levels change as the day goes on.

The only time I changed insulin based on a test right before feeding/shot was if her...

Re: New to this site. Jasmine needs HELP...

my vet told me not to do anything special when my dog was diagnosed. We wanted to get the insulin right for her routine. Lazy slothful routine or not! (my dog not yours) :)

Re: SUZIE in Hospital-Ketoacidosis and Septicemia

Vets have a lot of success with the W/D or the Purina OM. But like my vet told me, the most important thing is to get the dog to eat. So here on the forum we've seen success with a variety of food. ...
