I'm in NJ- let me know if anyone is close.

The Levemir insulin is really expensive ($290) so...

Would anyone be interested in any of his insulin or test strips? It's actually quite heart breaking to even see it.

He continues to get better! I'm going to keep him on the chicken and rice duet for at least another week or two. I don't want to set us back.
He is walking ok & getting up on his own. Still loose...

Re: Newly Diagnosed, still not Controlled

Today he seems much much better. He was up all night having to go out and hungry & pacing. Very picky with food, but has a good appetite if he likes it. I think he is the comeback cattledog.
My vet...

Back to him seeming really uncomfortable. Trouble walking, weak hind legs and also seems very dizzy or uncoordinated. He's 254, but he seems worse. He was staring at a corner. He smells like a stinky...

Thank you! I am so happy he feels better. My hearts on a rollercoaster with this pup.

Re: Newly Diagnosed, still not Controlled

On our way back from vet. He is much better today. BG 176 didn't want the I/D but ate the flagyl & tramadol in a piece of Swiss cheese. And I make him some egg whites & white rice.
He got sub...

Re: Newly Diagnosed, still not Controlled

I agree. I think it might be too rich. It's all strange, I took him for full blood panel on 9/25 & it was all good. His fructose was high, which could be too much insulin & he suggested another...

Re: Newly Diagnosed, still not Controlled

Happy to report after a full week on Levemir, with just a little R to help Sidney is doing wonderful! I think well end up going to 6.5 or 7 units, but he's up on his own, he's eating his W/D food and...
