I don't remember the details but I know for smaller dogs they are sometimes able to just do the first part of the ACTH test vs. the whole thing to possibly get an idea and save some money

I just think Annie is so cute! We are in Detroit Lakes. My husband tries to get up to Lake of the Woods a few times a year for walleye. crazy state.

You have definitely been dealing with a lot of issues. I didnít test blood sugar at home for a long time. One December Jennyís ACTH came back perfect. She was on lysodren. So we kept the lysodren...

Jenny had hers done twice after her diagnosis. Our vet was very nervous but monitored my girl closely and it was fine. It's always a risk but infections can lead to higher blood sugar also.

one other rule a lot of us have followed around here is if she eats half of her meal, give her half her dose of insulin

if she barely eats anything maybe give her 1/4

once you are testing blood...

We've had some dogs that had some type of acid reflux in the morning that made them not want to eat breakfast. Your vet may suggest trying some type of antacid. yay, more pills

Hopefully it isn't...

that is excellent news! That happened to us once too. The vet was sure there was no ear infection but she wound up taking antibiotics, her hearing got better and so did her blood sugar. yay!

My dog had cushings and diabetes for 3 1/2 years. When we got her cortisol down with Lysodren her insulin needs also dropped a lot. We also got the lecture from her eye doctor about no treats.

yeah, I'd listen to Jessegirl. It takes their bodies at least a week to adjust to a new dose so I'd go low and stick if possible.
