Default Re: Diabetes and Blindness! Did your dog go blind?!

Hi and welcome

Not all dogs go blind my jesse has kept her sight in over 9.5 years being diabetic . We have gone very different directions than most and one of them was a homemade diet (non processed ) Infused with veggies . Now i cant say our methods help or make a difference . Her blood sugar has had its ups and downs and was very high in the beginning . I always wondered if there was a diet component to loss of sight ? Its very hard to draw any conclusion with jesse . All I know is she has lived many more years with diabetes than not .

Must remember dogs sight is not that great to begin with . The other senses are more pronounced. So if a dog looses sight for the most its not a big deal but the caretaker should help with the transition and they can live happy dogs lives
