Some dogs don't have any/very many symptoms. Sometimes Ali's numbers would just go wonky. Other times there might be a different odor to her urine or it may be more concentrated. Some dogs get blood in the urine.

          Jackie,

I have the same problem, and it seems like I am always a step behind. The only way I was able to make any sense, was keep everything the same for about two weeks, and I was able to see something of a pattern...in a twisted sort of way. I am always trying something new and 'improved' to make it better, but I have found a base.... so when things get a little wild, I know that x amount of insulin with x of food, with x additive brings us back to her 'normalcy', or whatever that means for Abby.

It is always a work in progress and those wobblers are never on cruise control.

            Barb,
Thanks so much. It seems the last few days I have been frustrated and wanting things to be better. She is coming up on a year, and I so want her to be well and safe. Sorry for complaining, I guess I just needed a sounding board.
I can't tell you and all of you, how much your support means. Just to know someone else understands and has been there.
I'm trying to not let her today numbers bother me, lol cause I spilled an entire glass, BIG glass, of ice coffee with lots of sugar all over, and she licked the ice cubes before I could get it all up!!!!!!!! What a mess,

            Thanks for listening
Always enjoy hearing from you and your thoughts

                Jessegirl,
Thanks, July 20th is 1 year!! Yes, anything, Sissy will go around licking the floor hoping to find something.I spend my morning mopping, so any crumb is up, hopefully, lol
Ya, I'm far from an expert, always learning

Sissy was 338 alphatrak tonight, and 477 alphatrak this a.m. so her spread wasn't so huge, but way to high still. I gave her 6.5 units tonite, hope we get in the 200's in the a.m.???

I did not start snacks because she has been so high, waiting for a "typical day" lol

Waiting to see her pee, seems like she hasn't peed a lot today watching her

Patty, Thank you for the links. Just went through them. very helpful as I didn't know. As I told Jesse, seems like she hasn't peed a lot today, will watch her over the evening. She has been drinking. I will check keytones when she pees.. Thanks

Jackie, this board kept me sane when I was dealing with major wobbles as well. As Barb said, it helps to be able to see the "base" pattern, which I think you do. Then adapt for those wobbles with slight variations when needed. And I do think there's room for improvement over her fasting numbers. Always a work in progress..

                          Jackie,

If Sissy is prone to UTI's, you may want to consider Cranberry Powder. I buy it at Walmart actually, it comes in capsules, and break open the capsule and give about 1/3 of it Abby in her food. She hasn't had one since.

                          Hopefully she doesn't have one.

Good hint! I've been using Cranberry Relief http://www.amazon.com/NaturVet-Cranb.../dp/B0002YFC3Y
but capsules may be lower cost. I'll look at my next Walmart trip.

thanks Craig, nice to hear from you. Sissy has not ever had a UTI, but the last 2 days over 400 is making me suspect, although I don't see any signs of it

                                Hi everyone,

Sissy was 243 alphatrak last nite, so I think she is just doing her normal, however, I am going to post her a.m. fasting #'s and her p.m. #'s for this week. Does anyone have an idea about why she is so high in the a.m. Do you think she is getting to much insulin??? or maybe not enough??? I have checked her at nite and have never caught her low( I don't think ever below 200), but this a.m. pattern is new. She might have 2 mornings a week she is this high, but then I'll see at least mid 300's
