        Re: Bobby The Samoyed

Hi just wanted to respond after I read our post. Our family had a Samoyed 30 years ago with Diabetes, he was diagnosed at 10 years old and lived 2 years after that but he had a lot of complications. And now I find my dog Murphy has diabetes, diagnosed a year ago. This disease does run in Samoyed's and is common to the breed. But compared to what we had to deal with 30 years ago things have gotten so much better and so much more info out there. Hang in there and just try to learn as much as you can, you will hear conflicting info but this forum is really good for learning things.

                  Re: Bobby The Samoyed

I am completely gutted poor Bobby's op was a disaster the vets equipment failed halfway through his right eye surgery and she couldn't go on so we might lose the sight in that eye.
we have to go to Dun Laoghaire first thing tomorrow morning where the eye vet there will do bobs other eye and try to save his right one
I am just so upset over all of this Bobby deserves so much better

How awful! Poor Bobby. My girl, Criss, had a complication 8 days after her cataract surgery and lost the sight in both eyes again over the next 2 years.

I hope they can recover Bobby's sight.
