  • Cats & diabetes?

What is the K9diabetes.com of feline diabetes websites? Somebody on another forum has a cat that's been diagnosed.

    EDIT: I perused felinediabetes.com & the first 2 articles I came across were dated 2009 & 2010.

    Re: Cats & diabetes?

Here's a list of sites, but I'm not sure which ones are still active or would be of use to you.

    http://www.felinediabetes.com/

    http://www.sugarcats.com/headquarters.aspx

    http://www.catinfo.org/felinediabetes.htm

You can sign up for their forum here: http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/index.php
It has current threads from owners of diabetic cats.

I don't know that the FDMB keeps up a lot of articles, but the forum itself is very active - largest one I know of and I'm acquainted with a few people there.

There is another splinter group from them but it's specifically for tight regulation in cats, so advanced techiques and probably not the best place to start.

Thanks. I'll pass those along. I already recommended this site as a good source for diabetes info in general. I know a lot has changed. Can you believe that this April is Lucy's THIRD gotcha anniversary with David & Connie? Where has the time gone?

When my cat, Bobby, was diabetic I belonged to (still do) DiabeticCatsDM, I found it to be very resourceful.

Cats are a pita compared to dogs, IMHO. : ) I can't for the life of me get blood out of my cat and I can hardly believe there would be such a thing as tight control.

            Denise and the PITA Cat
Denise, Bogie (diabetic, cushings, now cancer), Molly (diabetic)
Reba (Cushings) and the other 12 cats and 4 dogs.
