First off yes she is named after the car, a 1967 in fact.
About a week and a half ago Shelby (Kruzinhaus' Qiannah Perfecta) seemed a little off. Our first thought was a bladder infection. She was not so lucky and that is why we are here.
She is currently at the vet but should be coming home Friday. Fingers crossed. When the vet told me what the problem was he probably didn't expect my reaction. Basically ok let's get her feeling better. We can handle it as we did with our daughter. We didn't kill her and she has had it for almost 23 yrs now. There will be challenges but we are confident we can keep her healthy.
I was relieved it was not something terminal. Diabetes is serious but it is treatable and the best thing is she will be coming home.
Shelby will be turning 7 at the end of December. Although she still acts much younger. Her dad was a Canadian Champion and her mom came from Serbia.
We are so looking forward to her coming home. Tuesday was the first night she spent without myself or my wife. We sure miss her.
