She has not had allergies in the past. I hope it's a one time thing. She's sound asleep right now

poor Lily!

my non-diabetic dog, Ranger is on his 3rd week of Apoquel. I know Amy & some others say it is a wonder drug. We aren't sure what Ranger is allergic to, no side effects so far though!

I hope she feels better soon!

That's encouraging! So far, so good. She slept for a couple of hours after her first Apoquel tablet, ate dinner and has not been scratching at all! I also removed her cone Now she's catching up on sleep again.

Hoping you get her some relief, and it is a one time event.

Watch her blood sugar - Maggie dropped like crazy on apoquel! I don't know if it was the drug or the not itching.

Also, a company named Aroma Paws makes a rosemary/tea tree shampoo for bacterial skin infections that is amazing.

Thanks Amy! So far her BG seems to be normal. Just checked her now and she is at 145, which is about right for her at this time of day

During the peak of her itchiness over the weekend, her BG numbers were higher than normal. Home testing is a wonderful thing. It's nice to see how she reacts to different situations

This is Lily's fourth day on Apoquel and her itching, scratching and biting have completely stopped. That stuff really works!

It's great isn't it! Eddie has been on it for several years and it has improved his quality of life (and ours!).

He is on a slightly higher than recommended dose which seems to work for him. On occasion when he has had a flare up, the vet even advised us to go back to the loading dose for a few days just to calm things down again. We have never noticed any particular effect on his blood sugar.

I hope Lily's itchy skin is now able to heal and she's feeling better.

Antonia
