      it is scary. poor Coco

my husband was watching an old episode of the office where the crazy lady was giving a guy instructions on what to do for her cat. This medicine, that medicine, wait 30 minutes, etc..

we just looked at each other and said, that was us! when my Jenny was in the middle of it

      hang in there!
Jenny: 6/6/2000 - 11/10/2014 She lived with diabetes and cushings for 3 1/2 years. She was one of a kind and we miss her.

        Skin condition Hairless and yeast

Hi all just looking for some insight, coco is missing hair on back half of her body across back down one leg, and it has a strong yeast smell and rashy rough texture she licks a lot, I’ve seen mild raw patches.
She was diagnosed over 3 years ago with dka diabetes and pancreatitis, we know what her normal is, but she did just have a bad bout from mid December-April, usually she’s only out of sorts for a week or 2 and it happens every 3-4 months. (We had a really hard time with her appetite and pancreatitis, [dec-April]she would only eat 1-2 days then be sick for a week or two and lethargic luckily she’s back to her normal , it is expensive and emotionally hard to care for her and I want her comfortable, )
Anyway the point is to ask if anyone has dealt with issues like this with skin, trying to avoid dermatology. She seee her specialist every 3-4 months and now is supposed to get an echo every 6 months. She’s recently celebrated turning 12
        Thank you ☺️

Re: Skin condition Hairless and yeast

Has she had her thyroids tested? I'm no expert but we usually assume it's hypothyroid or cushings. Maybe look into getting her thyroid test done.

There are lots of experts and experienced owners here that can definitely give you a few pointers.

Goodluck and happy 12th birthday Coco!

Re: Skin condition Hairless and yeast

I have a Westie, not diabetic, but they seem to have skin issues. I have been successful in using Curaseb as a topical. Sold on Amazon, no prescription. Clears things up in about one day, one application.
