Default Water drinking tips/tricks?

Riley's recent urinalysis shows he still doesn't drink enough. His pee is too concentrated, and as a result he has a few struvite crystals, and a bit of sugar (still working on his daytime sugar levels.) Culture was clear.

How can I get more moisture into him? He has never been a drinker. I add 3-4 tblsp of water to his can food, and there are water bowls everywhere.

My jesse has never been a big drinker since being regulated . The only time she does drink more is after chasing rabbits on a warmer day

Not sure why a diabetic dog would drink less but it appears it does happen

Jesse has done fine with her levels of drinking for a long time so i dont worry about it much and for her summer is coming and she will drink more

I fill up a small bowl with water and sprinkle Parmesan cheese in it. Shell drink the whole thing down in one go. When she was running high but not drinking enough Id do it a few times a day just to get her to drink.

Would he eat a broth flavored ice cube as a treat?

If you pet is up to walking that might be something to try. Scooter always heads for his water bowl as soon as he gets back from our morning or evening walk.

I put a few little pieces of chicken in Daisy's water bowl and fill it about 1/4 of the way up. She drinks all the water to get to the chicken.

Thanks for the great ideas. I'll experiment this weekend.

I walk him twice a day usually, and he sometimes drinks after walks, depending on the outside temp. He usually drinks a couple times in the first hour after meals also. But it's not enough apparently.

He likes cheese, he likes snow and ice, and he likes chicken, so your ideas have potential. I might even crush some of his freeze dried chicken and sprinkle that.

Stay tuned.
