Re: Sweet Scoop has passed...
Vicki, I wanted to share with you a book that has given me great comfort. It is called "Animals in Spirit". It might not help if you don't believe in animal communication and sometimes I do falter in my belief, but it gives me great comfort.
Once I heard someone saying an animal had taught them something and I am so literal that I had a hard time understanding that. Well, now I know! There are so many things that Ruby was here to teach me. I no longer think she was lucky I stumbled along. I think she was every bit as much saving me as I was her.
I am committed to continuing my relationship with her and have started a garden in her honor. It is where I have my dogs buried. The area was going to weed before and I am now creating a meditation garden.
I know it pales in comparison to the furry little body cozying up to me, but it is what I am left with. I truly believe it is up to me what becomes of our relationship now. It seems she is still here whenever I "tune it".
We all know how daunting the struggle is when dealing with diabetes and cushings at the same time. Please know you did all you could and you helped him live his best life while loving him so completely.
I hope Raleigh can offer you some comfort. I was devastated when I lost my 1st shorthair and instead of gaining comfort from the two still with me I resented them because they were here and Abby wasn't.
It may be hard to believe it now, but the pain will ease. It did for me with Abby and I was again able to cherish her remaining sons. Please come to us anytime you need strength.
