Default Re: Relion N will be Humulin N; Changeover is causing shortages of Relion N

Thanks for the update! It's good to know that it's not a long-term problem due to the switch.

It's sounding like most Walmarts will have made this switch by now. Let us know whether your Walmart is nowing selling Humulin N as Relion or is still selling it as Novolin N.

Hi,

Yesterday, I stopped by Walmart to pick up some insulin and syringes. When I got to the head of line, I asked the clerk for 2 vials of Novolin N and two boxes of syringes. She came back from the fridge and shook her head...none in stock! She went to check the unopened boxes and I watched her open and check the list in each of three boxes...nothing. There was an insulated yellow box perched on the bench close to me. She broke the seal and checked the list...voila, a supply of Humulin N.

The cost of the Humulin N was the same...$24.88.

Cheers

Harry.

My local Walmart had the Humulin N Relion when I purchased a few weeks ago. They did bring me a bottle of Novolin N first (must have been older stock), but brought me the Humulin N bottle when I asked for it.

As of 2 weeks ago my Walmart had both - and asked me which one I wanted. I switched to the Humulin and haven't seen any change in Rowlf's numbers. - sheureka

I checked this evening at our local WalMart here in Central PA and they are now selling Relion Humulin N and the pharmacist told me he he does not even have any of the Novolin N. I didn't need to purchase any yet, just wanted to see if they had it and I forgot to ask him what the price is.

Here in Northern California, our Walmart still has Novolin N. I actually forgot to ask if they had the Humulin N, so I don't know if they have both.
