I'm posting Gordy's BG readings for the last week or so. We tried to do him every two hours, didn't always make it.

Hi Judy,

I'm looking at Gordy's stuff right now... It is hard to completely rule out rebound on a day like the 19th, when his blood sugar started lower than other days and there was a 4-hour gap between readings.

I'm not saying it DID happen, only that it could have happened - his blood sugar could have gone low and started bouncing back up during those four hours and you were catching it at 285 on it's way back up.

So how has his blood sugar been since the increase in insulin?

If it's worse, I'd look at rebound as a possibility. If it's better, then rebound would be less likely.

Natalie

Some days there are some trends...

Some days none that I can see. My gut response remains that Gordy's blood sugar is erratic rather than rebounding and that any number of other issues could be responsible for it.

I don't see any obvious signs of rebound but realistically, the increase in dose should help answer the question. If he's rebounding, more insulin should make it worse.

It is with a very heavy heart that I let you know that Gordy passed away this week. He took a sudden turn and his loving family chose to let him go.

My deepest sympathy to Judy and the rest of Gordy's family.

Judy,
I tried to post on vetpet but must've messed it up since it came through blank.
I had been following you and Gordy through your trials. I am so very sorry for your loss.
Thoughts and prayers,
Patty
