    Did you get a Canadian Alpha Trak? Originally you had a U.S. reading unit.

    I know with mine, even tho it says it only needs a speck of blood, sometimes my blood drop is so small, it takes a few seconds and it may or may not activate. If it does finally beep and give a reading, I don't trust it, so I test again with a bigger blood drop, and sometimes it's a completely different reading.

    Get a good blood drop and you should be OK.
    Riley, 8 yr. old maltipoo, 25 lbs., diagnosed Feb 2017, taking thyroid meds, had pancreatitis and DKA mid March, eating Wellness Senior formula can food. NPH dosage now at 9.0 units Humulin N. Adding either pumpkin, spinach, blueberries, yams, or green beans to his food. Also omega-3 oil.
